About our Meta-judge:

Terry Smith
TerrySmith1.jpg
Assistant Professor, Radford University, Radford, VA. I am in the School of Teacher Education and Leadership. I teach science and social studies methods integrating educational technology. I also run two global projects, the Monster Project and the Kidlink Landmark Project. I serve on the Geo-educators Steering Committee for National Geographic. I have been enjoying and judging Flat Classroom projects for 5 years.

Final comments from judge:
I applaud the intelligence, energy, hard work, planning, and overall creativity of the students who were brave enough and confident enough to take part in 2015 Flat Connections Global Project. The project provides students with deliberate practice in global competence, cultural understanding, global collaboration, and technology skills. Students have the opportunity to take a good look at their own society and then translate what they see into expressive communication applicable to the world. We can all be proud of the vision of these students.
